    James Quilley

    James golf career spans 27 years, working in every aspect of golf club operations and involves work with over 31 projects in 17 different countries. James has spent the last 4 years working in Asia, with sports management company giant - IMG. Emerald Golf is now poised to compete with the major golf management companies of the world, with some distinct advantages being passed on as benefits to our clients.

  • Mark Bates - Director of Operations, Asia

    Mark Bates

    Mark has been in the golf industry for 15 years and entered the Canadian PGA in 1999. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Management with Great Distinction from the University of Lethbridge where his studies focused on practical management consulting. Having spent the last 6 years in Asia, Mark has the necessary cultural understandings to be an effective communicator in providing training and helpful on-site demonstrations with the staff and management of the club. Mark has most recently completed a management project with a regional (SE Asia) golf retail company and is currently managing a Golf Academy in Singapore. Combined with his previous experience managing golf operations and Pro-Shops, Mark provides the specialized knowledge to enhance your structure and team on an operational level.

  • Henrik Sarajas - Director of Operations, Europe

    Henirk Sarajas

    Henrik Sarajas is based in Finland, but is a true global worker and thinker. Henrik has attained a degree in Marketing, with a specialization in international marketing. He has demonstrated both creativity and success across multiple industries, not only golf, a result of his "big picture" vision and desire to think outside the box in attracting new business. Thus his strongest skills are Visionary and Strategic thinking and hospitality marketing management. Henrik's latest interest is sustainability i.e. how to run a golf business, with high ecological goals resulting with lower costs and better profits.

    He is however a golfer and golf business professional at heart and this has taken him to work around the world on golf projects, sometimes as a golf instructor, and at other times operating high performance golf retail business, as well as in managing and leading the development of a 5-star golf property in Egypt. Henrik is a true professional, and brings great international experience and a high level of enthusiasm in communicating his knowledge, with a true customer service – attitude.

  • Gilles Dufort - Director of Operations, Americas & International

    Gilles Dufort

    Gilles Dufort is an acclaimed and esteemed veteran of the Canadian golf industry with a career in management spanning 26 years. He has managed some of the finest facilities in Canada and has accumulated awards such as; Head Professional of the Year, Golf Facility of the Year, #4 Customer Service in the country, Best Golf Course in region, and a Platinum Award by SCORE Canada magazine. Gilles has served on his PGA Board of Directors including a term as President and holds membership in the Canadian Professional Golfer's Association, the Canadian Society of Club Managers and the National Golf Course Owners Association. Gilles has given seminars to his fellow club managers on Customer Service and is held in high regard by his industry peers. He has a relentless eye for detail and excellence which brings benefit to the facility, the customers, the staff and ultimately the owners of the facility. Gilles exceedingly high standards and work ethic make him a remarkable member of the Emerald Golf team and an asset to any project which he becomes involved with.

    John Russell

    John is a business strategist, specialising in corporate golf events in Asia. Conducting business around Asia for over 30 years for world class companies and based in Indonesia since 1990, John has a profound knowledge of Asian business and the elite golfing community. John became well known as a golf expert after founding golf schools in 4 locations in Jakarta, writing for top publications such as; Indonesian Golf Digest and The Jakarta Globe newspaper, as well as presenting for Metro TV segments. For the last 12 years John has designed and executed corporate golf programs and events in 16 cities in Indonesia and 9 countries in the Asia Pacific Region. His programs are well known for their polish, creativity and above all their business effectiveness and value.

    John is a pioneer of corporate golf in Asia, and procedures and features created by John have become standard practice in corporate events today. Owners and CEO's are comfortable to discuss their visions and business objectives with John at peer level to ensure the most effective result for their companies. Whether our clients need guidance for a well run members event, or want a sensational Grand Opening, or even to host a world class PGA event, John can ensure success at all levels.

Over the years, Chris has created, designed, opened, and operated many highly successful F&B establishments in different parts of the globe. From award winning restaurants and 5 star hotels in Asia to Michelin Star establishments in the USA and Europe.

    His multi faceted experiences has made him into a highly creative professional in conceptual developments, and adaptive in multiple settings of the industry.
